ACER WORKING ON A 15 INCH ULTRABOOK WITH FIBER GLASS CASE

Rumors doing the rounds suggest that Acer is working on a new thin and light laptop with a 15 inch display and a fiberglass case. The device is reportedly being built by Taiwanese OEM Pegatron.

Ultrabooks usually have 11 to 13 inch displays, but models with 14 and 15 inch displays are also coming. According to Intel, an ultrabook is a thin and light laptop weighing less than 4 pounds and measuring less than an inch in thickness. And that definition should be applicable to 14 and 15 inch ultrabooks as well.

By using a fiberglass Acer can make sure that this laptop will stay within the specified weight limits while at the same maintaining a sturdy frame.

By the way, this isn’t the first 15 inch ultrabook from Acer. The company has already announced another ultrabook called Aspire Timeline Ultra M3. It has a 15 inch display, optical drive and NVIDIA Kepler graphics.
