Acer has officially launched its first ultrabook: the Acer Aspire S3. The device has a 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixels display. It will be powered by an Intel Core i Series processor. The laptop will reportedly have a starting price of 799 Euros. It is likely to cost less when it launches in the US.
An ultrabook is an emerging category of ultrathin laptops with good hardware. The Aspire S3 measures less than half and an inch in thickness and weighs about 3 pounds. Acer says that it will get up to 7 hours of battery life and a standby time of up to 50 hours.
The Acer Aspire S3 will be available with a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and a choice of 240GB of SSD or 320GB / 500GB of hard drive with an embedded SSD which will reportedly improve performance. The laptop also has a 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. It will be available in some parts of the world during this month itself.
